From a marketing perspective do posts on forums such as this ad value to your business? If so how?

I have my own ideas on how 'posts' can aid my marketing strategy, lets hear yours?

yes they do add value, if you post quality posts and helpful posts on related forums, people are going to take note and click your sig link, and you would of of already built up some sort of trust with the visitors, also it increases PR, forums like this have DOFOLLOW links which increases Page Rank (PR)

Not only forums and blog post yahoo answers are also helpful for marketing or driving traffic towards your website.

forums does help provided that you don't spam the forums. As nowadays people tends to spam and forum admin has to get some extra layers of protection there.

No doubt forums postings and blog posts are good for marketing but you can also go with question answer sites, where you can link to you website and can get better traffic.

I'd echo everyone's comments, just remember your building up a reputation online, and poor forum posts and useless spamming will come back and haunt you you leave a snail trail online, just google liam young

Forms have been very successful for my marketing campaigns over the years.

I'd agree you need to be careful when asking for open comments though as negative feedback can be damaging but it's also nice as a user/customer when you can read real feedback on a concept or service/product without it just being quotes on a website that the service provider has full control over.
