Hi guys,
I was in London for the first time a few weeks ago during my holiday. I noticed a lot of signs hanging in windows of apartments and office space with either the text "for rent" or "to let".. And I started to wonder about it - what is the difference between "flat for rent" and "flat to let"..? I am from Denmark, which might be why I do not find the answer to be obvious, which I of course apologise. Teach me people, what is the difference? ![]() And which term is the most correct one to use..? Thanks in advance Last edited by Daniel; 10-23-2008 at 01:49 PM. |

Re: for rent vs. to let??
In US I know to rent is for the owner to keep property rights & for the potential buyer to temporarily live in it. I haven't heard the phrase "to let". Maybe this is to buy in US? Where you buy the property rights usually taking out a loan & then pay monthly payments on that loan.
