Re: Dealing with VC's

I can only be pessemistic in using VC's. One has only to look at the stats and the projects they fund are very very few.

You do not mention the funds you need or the venture.

Ideally try your local business link for the VC/BA networking events its a good place to talk, explore and get to know what VC funding is all about.

Re: Dealing with VC's

I have to admit that the investment rate is very low. Usually this is because simply put, most ideas that people have are crap. So how do you make sure they understand that yours isn't?

- Make a GOOD business plan. Don't be affraid to name the risks etc, it has show that you have identified that way you will make money with it and that you know what you must manage.

- Have a demo. Demos are great to get your idea across to others.

- If appropriate, make sure you have applied for a (provisional) patent. If the idea is good and it can be patented, your odds go up immensely.

Re: Dealing with VC's

Great information youve posted. My only fear is the legal side of the deal. Could you provide some information on the best practices for making sure that your business remains your business and not that of the VC.

Re: Dealing with VC's

If you are confident enough and have a great business plan, i don't think there would be problem in getting funding for your business.

I have been trying to start up a business and so have done quite a bit of reading. Maybe there are some useful sites or books that could be helpful to you.

Re: Dealing with VC's

Last night after my post I decided to blog hop around to see if there were any good sites on writing a business plan. I stumbled across one that I thought was quite good....
